So, andrewbee, I really liked your work. Good luck in the next year, I will hope for your victory, you have talent. Интересный вышел срач с итальянскими школьниками)
I had honestly forgotten about this year's contest(already planning for my next debut) but I kept sneezing while watching magi and felt I was been spoken of somewhere else and not my allergies acting up Regarding my disqualification, I discussed with EvilSpider on various aspects of the contest. I think the most important thing I felt was a problem was how novice contenders or people who are new to akross or amv contests in general are easily susceptible to disqualification and did my best to make a case for them. I had already posted my video on youtube and animemusicvideos.org after i was finished and it was through AMV.org that I made my first contest entries to two other con events and also first heard about this one. I did make an attempt to stop any public online showing but I wasn't going to write emails to the other contests and ask for a withdrawal. I make amvs like many, as a hobby. It's what introduced me to my career and it's something I will always do even when I am old and grey. I respect the moderators and the rules here. I feel contests like this, celebrates our artistry and creativity as editors. It should be relatively open* and the exclusivity clause is something we need to rethink as a rule. I hope that the rules will be openly discussed someday as this platform continues to grow.
*as long as the video was made around the launch of the contest
The Video: Its really interesting to see a different take on a song choice. There were pockets of storytelling but I think you prioritize flashiness (i use this term loosely) when you were making your selections and a lesser consideration for the lyrics context. That's fine but it ends up sending a mixed message. Technically, its got great flow and some several instances transitioned pretty well.Nice job and best of luck.
Kristoo Sincerely, I don't mind if you like my video or not, surely I don't cry for a vote of an incompetent like you, and we can see that you're clearly incompetent from the fact that you're voting bad all the good videos and voting well all the bad ones. I state, I'm not saying that those videos are good to force (mine included), but everyone except you - little ant among the humans - is voting them well. Back to andrewbee's video, maybe you didn't understand yet that his video was published before the Akross premiere, thing prohibited by rules. I'm sorry for andrewbee, but these are the rules and we have to respect them, and he has willingly accepted the consequences of his mistake. Feel free to avoid to reply me, because I haven't time to loose with you, little ant.
Sorry, but this situation is unpleasant to me. Still 1/10.
I understand your feeling of sadness that a possibly good video was eliminated, but I don't think it is fair to give a rating like this a competitor's video just because of that. We are supposed to objectively evaluate and rate the entered videos. Of course personal taste will always play a minor role, but it's not supposed to affect the rating on such a scale. Even just looking at the editing would immediately overrule a rating of 1, considering it would be an amateur's video. I'm just saying.... it's unfortunate enough that they had to go for the same source, the least diegao deserves from us, is an honest rating.
PrincessKairy, assessment of your nasty AMV you can see in the comments, there is nothing to change. About this AMV. Everyone can download it and put it on YouTube. This year there were very few really good clips. this explains my behavior, I feel sorry for a good clip of andrewbee.
