The scene selection feels very unplanned and doesn't fit the music from my perspective, some internal sync is cool, like Ararararagi hitting the wall @ 2:26
The vertical-glitchy-effect-thingy just didn't work for me, it's not synced to any specific sound and it appears randomly throughout the whole video (it doesn't look all that good either), this is an example where having no effects would have actually made the video better, the zoom transitions were an OK idea, but should be used sparingly and when the scenes in between justify it.
The encoding also has some issues, it's 60fps with no interpolation which means it has alot more repeated frames (making it look more stuttery) and more than double the file size it should have, bitrate is 2Mbps, quite terrible, specially for a vid encoded at 60fps, and other mundane stuff like only having 1 ReFrame and so on.
You were not supposed to know all this of course, you're just starting out, and maybe you don't even give a shit  and that's fine too, but I left my fussy and pedantic fault-finding opinion anyway so you can do more and better on your next projects, good luck with those! |

Sorry it took me so long to reply,the parts where the anime has it's original color not the enchanted one (for example at 0:24 - 0:25) when Zen jumps up),i think a little color correction would make it blend better as a whole.Also did you edited this in Vegas ? I can see some ghosting,next time select Disable Resample on your videos when you put them into the timeline, (I may be wrong about the ghosting since i'm not that good at spotting it xD)
And since i came back and watched the video again i got to like the amv and the song more than i did the first time xD. |

Even if the sudden changes between smooth 60fps interpolated footage and typical non-interpolated animation felt jarring at times, I must say it works in favor of the psychedelic concept, even if it wasn't your intention, very unorthodox but quite effective when you look at the video as a whole.

| [14.01.2017] MrNosec » BORSCH [TrueAmv] | Cool dark themed AMV! Wish there were more of those recently, although I feel like it lacks impact, I enjoyed the apocalyptic and depressing atmosphere, but the experience was hindered by some technical factors though.
The overall image is way too dark, yes of course it fits the concept, but there's a difference between being dark and completely black aka zero from 0-255, it should have been balanced more evenly in my opinion.
When you used Camera Lens Blur (at least it looks like it) at around 0:23, the black bars got blurred aswell and mixed with the rest of the video, it just looked very incongruous for me, only the video should be blurred when this happens or it ruins the immersion by changing the aspect ratio.
Also, why render/encode it at 60fps? Since you didn't use any form of interpolation it just bloated the file size and doubled the duplicated frames, sometimes even taking 6 frames to complete an animation, as you can see here: check how many times I click " next frame "
Hope you don't take this as a rant or as a way to tell you how to make your videos, by all means keep at it if that's your style, just something to consider for your future projects, good luck in the contest |
