I didn't thought that this video will be that successful and such a crowd pleaser. Maybe it's just me and I don't have enough distance to my own work again. However I can say that I'm very pleased with this video even if there are quite a lot compromises in the video to not violate the amv challenge. Some people like it and some are simply bored of it. I can understand it, because this caters more or less to a niche audience of AMVs.

.:Speaking about the challenge:.
The AniNite AMV challenge is a quite unique concept. You register, get 3 categories to choose, you pick one tricky theme and you work on it. I took the classical challenge. I had to mix one classic song to anime. The catch was that there should be no humans at all in the video. This was quite hard for the storyline.

.:Storyline:.
It's not hard to get it. Mankind is almost gone. There is nothing but a barren wasteland with ruins and a melancholic landscape. You only get one scene that tells you what could have happened. Anyway! Someone gets a strong idea and works it out. You see how it grows and gets stronger and how it finally gets worked out in a wonderful musical part. He build up an android to bring this wasteland back to life. Rebirth of mankind? No. Probably the rise of the post human androids.

.:Technical:.
It's quite simple, but very effective mood sync. This builds up on heavy atmosphere and the sync is very fine, but yet precise at important points. It took me around 2 weeks to make this video and I'm glad how this turned out! The colours are not really black and white. They are very dark blue and white. Gives it a more unique charme compared to simple b&w. The grain is alright and gives the video extra depth. Though you won't notice it in the streaming video edition.

Premiere Pro CS5 fucked up a lot of crossfades. It really took me a long time to figure out on how to fix it. >_>
