Upon seeing the combo, I was a little skeptical but it worked out pretty nicely. Quite a few technical details could be modified/added, but the idea is there. Nicely done. :3

The overlaying could had been much better if you used Blending modes like Darken, Multiply, Screen or Overlay also contrast helps bring out the image or character with overlaying.

There's sync, feeling and creativity, no doubt about this.
The combo may sound weird but i believe is refreshing!... but i think it could work the best with a unique visual vfx or more work, using this song in a drama-like video with another anime could be better and easier.
