Symbolism. The shape in the video symbolizes movement, flow, and change. Often we find ourselves searching for "something". We're never satisfied. And as editors, we're often hard on ourselves and sometimes on others because of our own expectations. We set goals in search of some kind of way to make ourselves feel validated. The goals that we have set our sights on can often get lost along the way. One day we'll look in one place, the next day in another, becoming this endless loop. Sometimes what we're searching for is closer than we think. Who knows, whatever it is we're searching for could be right under our nose.

Various[ Kimi no Na wa, Uchiage Hanami, Hoshi o Ou Kodomo ]
I kept thinking that the characters were obsessed with Dungeons and Dragons and had D20s on their mind. Was hoping the beat would drop and we'd get some fantasy fight sequences and the result of a nat 20 or even a nat 1 or something.
Joke aside, the strengths seemed to be the subtelty of motion and aesthetic composition of the scenes. Its got that artsy vibe, but like the character in the video I couldn't tell why or what we're grasping for other then the general sense of wanting. Pacing and sync were ok, established what it would be doing after the initial 30-40 seconds which seemed ok, but I would have liked more of a roller coaster ride to differentiate the sections more with a give and take of the lyrics. I loved the dramatic hold type scenes and the sync on those pop sounds like the scenes at 1:47 or the hands at 1:54 or eyes at 2:18.
The ending felt empty to me since he finally gets there and then its a fast montage of past scenes representing his longing but still have no idea why he was longing in the first place, what it is that he thinks he might have now or obtained, or why we even followed him. Why is this personal journey suddenly so public with all these shots of people and the news, where were they before? I guess it fits you're description that we're all never satisfied, he gets to the payoff, but we don't really get the payoff. I think there's a bit of an abstract trap that we've fallen into here and agree a lot with ThalesEditions post about the symbolism. Its there, its abstract, but no real indication of what it means other then the lead character is obsessed with it.
Overall nice presentation, you got some nice technical skills and a lot of potential. I'm interested to see what else you come up with.
High Visual Technical, but low concept and harmony with video/music. I just watched the movie in this AMV, the difference here is the girl is with a cube in her head.
This "concept" try to justify the random cube effect, and.. in the end this makes no sense, once the boy found the girl, she keeps the cube in her head and suddenly a giant cube appears (but it shows that every single human is searching for something), the boy found the girl, but he saw the giant cube too, and her saw it too = no sense.
Yeah, symbolism was just a justification for show the author technique with 3D and visual. Ok, nice, but it clearly doesn't deserve first place, there are a lot of better videos here, such as Delusion, Quintessence, Moonlight, Blood Tears and others. I think people is making a lot of drama calling this the first place.
Хороший концептульный клип, по уровню исполнения вполне мог быть и официальным. Техника чистенькая, всё смотрится как тут и было Мне совсем не зашло из-за скучного трека.
