целом, конечно, само участие в конкурс как таковом, как-бы это

Большая честь пребывать в обществе именитых авторов. Конкурс сам по
себе - отменный стимул для упорной работы над клипами, чтоб не
сильно стыдно было показаться перед другими авторами. Приятно
внимание авторов, их критика, какой бы "сокрушающей" она не была.
Порадовала организация, своевременные и четкие действия
координатора. Ощутимы его действия по бесперебойной и исправной
работе конкурсной машины. В-общем, Кими доволен и хотел бы
продолжения банкета, но, увы, - лишь через год. С нетерпением жду.

about Akross ? I think it is a chance to meet many amazing editors

entered it and had a chance to participate , getting that far

best changes)
-Increase of the international participation (It's
the first time so many japanese editors join to the contest for the
example, which is something appreciated)
-Feedback for every
clip premiered and the time to start a discussion about
them.
-The chance to meet other editors, some of them showing
themselves for the first time.
-The chance to meet and
understand the use of new tools like the AMVSimple (Not really my
experience but I guess this will be true for some other editors
;P)
-The chance to understand the vision about the concepts of
every genre for AMVs in the case of the russian community
-And
the last one: The extension of the deadlines. If the organizators
decided to keep them as they were, probably the amount of clips
would have decreased.

Category voting. Sometimes it is required
to vote 4 or 5 videos for a category but I feel only 2 or maybe 3
are worthy.

Not much really, if something I don't
really get the order videos get premiered sometimes, but thats more
of a question than something I dislike.

It was alright, nothing particularly
annoying.

Voting for the finals. I need to
watch and rate all finalists before i can actually vote so why is it
impossible to show me my score next to each AMV when it's time for
the voting. There are fucking 70 AMVs. I'm supposed to have seen
them but not know each of them in and out. Show me my rating when it
comes to picking the AMVs vor the 17 categories and make it easy to
preview them in an instant. Make a seperate page with all my ratings
if that's not possible so i have a
guideline.

I dislike all of the rules that
put creators automatically into A category. I think videos should be
split each on the same rules, no matter the previous actions of the
editor. Also, I think it would be better to decide on a bigger % of
finalists by viewers' voting.

There is
not much to dislike in a contest of this caliber. I would only say
that I felt that many of the entries weren't to the standard one
would hope to see in this contest. I felt that many treated this as
if it were some sort of joke. Though it wasn't the contest's fault,
it really hurt the overall experience. Again, this is simply
personal opinion. Other than that, there was nothing to complain
about.

The same goes for the secondary nominations. Most of them offered 5
slots. Wouldn't 3 be enough?

video descriptions were in russian. I understand that this is a
russian site, but if the contest is international it would be better
if the contestants would also be asked to provide an english
description. this would help a lot.
And I disliked
watching 70 videos. It was very difficult to remember the videos
when it came to the voting. Maybe you could manage to show the score
behind each video in the dropdown-menues. That would be very
helpful.

Что не понравилось? Да так-то,
проблем практически не наблюдаю. Разве что, хотелось бы поменьше
предвзятости и пренебрежения к клипам. Это, пожалуй, самое
неприятное. Если уж возникает такая ситуация, то сокрушающая критика
и длиннющий перечень недостатков в комментарии, на мой взгляд, куда
лучше, чем фраза вроде "дропнул на ... секунде". Не стоит обходить
вниманием работы, какими бы страшными они ни были. Выставленные на
обзор изъяны и даже удар по авторской самооценке (в форме
комментария, а не брани, само собой), мне кажутся менее страшными,
чем факт, что работа осталась без зрителя. Все-таки, в день, от
силы, по четыре работы выкладывали и уделить максимум полчасика на
ознакомление с клипами вполне реально и не проблематично. Иных
пререканий нет. :}

the big people (association members) + the people who everyone knows
for doing "big extensive projects". The lack of good criticism,
there a lot of people who make sarcastic comments and the author
gets confused if that was a good thing or a bad thing - getting
nowhere. And for my first year, it felt somehow rushed and harsh,
but I think that is a natural pressure
anyways.

The only fact I'll mention here
are that while it's understandable if the organizators wants to
decide an alternative order for the premiere of clips, but at some
cases, it could be kinda annoying for some authors to wait almost 2
weeks for the premiere. It's ok if this is the case of the
finalists, since the objective of the contest is to finish quickly
the demostration of the B group in order to pass to the votings for
the finals.

I love the
strong imagination of Russian amv makers. I hope that they will
enter the next time contest more and more.

influence the audince make during the voting to the finals. 8 vs 62
is a big gap, but I wouldn't want it increased by
much.

a longer deadline, because extend it during the contest it's not
fair towards participants.

userdriven. I know you want to decide what is in the finals to push
the style of the contest and stuff and yeah, you got all right to do
so. Still user voting is important to. Make it 50/50. Many good
videos didn't make it into the finals this year, again, while a
couple of finalists are really expendable.

entering this contest, I could say that I was a bit overwhelmed with
everything but as time went on things became easier for me to
understand. I feel that nothing really needs to be changed. The
contest was organized, its rules were reasonable and understandable,
and overall the experience was as expected.

Сказав, что мне нравится его общедоступность, мне отнюдь не хочется,
чтоб в него шли все, кому не лень, потому что я уважаю АКРОСС и
желаю, чтоб авторы подходили к нему осознанно и относились с должным
почтением, а не так, что кто-то где-то что-то там услышал про АМВ и
АКРОСС и, спустя три дня, уже заливался на кон. Это несерьезно и
неизбежно ведет к чьим-то обидам. И чтоб на сайте было поменьше
таких соплей, а у юзеров и администрации - целее нервы, хочется,
чтоб техпроверка была ужесточена. Не сомневаюсь, модераторы при их
стаже способны отличить явное школоловство и халтуру от просто
слабоватой работы. Вот тогда уровень АКРОССа наверняка подымется.

amount of creators will fail in the attempt of getting things done
till November (360 people > 180 people, that's so much), I know

-I'll recommend a revision to the rules. At some cases I was getting
the feeling that the contest could be even better than the actual
system with an extensive revision to the penalty points and the
restrictions.
-Another one and this one goes to the foreigners:
It should be encouraged to comment not only the finalists clips.
It's sad that the contest is growing fast and the same authors
comment every entry premiered. Besides, between the finalists, it's
true that not all the finalists were commented, so it should
encouraged to at least leave an opinion.
-Since this was a
special edition to the contest due the anniversary, it should be
also encouraged to give those contests that celebrate something
special to the association (Ex. A - 15 years, 20 years anniversary)
that feeling of anniversary, remembering that not every year you
have the chance to celebrate 10 years for a contest. A kind of 'hall
of fame' of the AKROSS could work here, or something like a kind of
'Remembering the last years of the association, the well-known
authors of the contest' a kind of 'History of AKROSS Con' if you
understand me well ;)
-And the last one: Since S.A. Robert
mentioned it: If it's possible to make a revision about the limits
of the preview and standard version. I was comparing the 2 Mbs limit
Vs the 4 Mbs limit. Although it's just a preview, the results were
impressive. And due the calculation of the sizes, it was still
acceptable.
-Since there was a problem at the beginning of the
contest: I recommend a strict revision to the clips presented. It's
true that some authors around do the job when they compare the clips
and/or remember the premiered clip with other past clips shown in
other years.
So, EvilSpider and hosting committee, you
have done well bringing us a new edition. It could be a very
stressfull work if you just go with the uploads and the check of the
videos, nor to mention the decision of the qualifications for the
finalists, the changed of the pages, the reply to messages,
etc.
And other thing: Keep the prizes secret for the future
contests :P
Glad to have taken participation in this Con. This
was probably my last participation in contests (Really dunno if in
the future I'll be even editing, but it was still a nice
participation)
